Coronavirus Updates and Announcements – March 27, 2020
Shakespeare Theatre Company is complying with the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control and has suspended all public programming through May 17. Additionally, following federal guidelines, our buildings and work spaces are closed until April 30, but many employees are teleworking and our Box Office associates are accessible Monday – Friday from noon to 6 p.m. These dates remain under constant review following local and federal guidelines.
Shakespeare Theatre Company’s scheduled programming has been disrupted, and STC is currently working to assist patrons holding tickets for canceled and postponed shows. Patrons do not need to call the Box Office at this time.
Tickets may also be released as a tax-deductible donation to STC as a contribution to the Phoenix Fund. With the help of a generous board member who has agreed to match gifts of any amount up to one million dollars, any contribution made will be matched dollar for dollar. We continue to monitor advice from the Center for Disease Control and the D.C. Health Department. In the meantime, we encourage our patrons and staff to take care of each other and themselves, especially practicing social distancing and staying at home. We thank our audiences for their continued support and understanding at this challenging time. We look forward to the resumption of our performances as soon as we are able.
