Classes for Youth and Teens
CLASSES WILL BE OFFERED VIRTUALLY FOR FALL 2020.
Shakespeare Theatre Company offers classes for youth and teens between the ages of 6 and 18.
If you have any questions regarding classes for youth and teens, please contact New Generations Manager Julane Havens at JHavens@ShakespeareTheatre.org.
Our Commitment to Inclusion:
Youth and Teen Classes at STC provide a safe and supportive environment for everyone regardless of ability, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, cultural background, national origin, citizenship, faith, ideology, and income. Together we ensure that everyone feels secure and has the opportunity to build confidence in the power of their own voice, imagination and artistic ability with dignity. We endeavor to create a fully inclusive culture that values equality and fosters respect for all people while we collaborate to explore and perform.
Technical Requirements and Safety:
Students will need a computer or tablet with a video camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection, access to emailed materials (including Zoom links), and space to vocalize, move, write, and play. Class information will be emailed the week prior to the start date.
STC follows Zoom’s best practices for securing virtual classrooms. Registered students will enter a “Waiting Room” and be admitted to class only if their name matches the name on the class roster. Classrooms will be locked after ten minutes (you may email JHavens@ShakespeareTheatre.org to be admitted if you are locked out). Private chatting between students is disabled, but students will be able to private message their instructors. Students and families must agree to not share Zoom links or record classes for any reason. STC records all class sessions for everyone’s safety. Please contact us if you have any questions about these practices.
Full tuition is due upon registration. We are unable to refund missed class time, but if you need to withdraw your registration for any reason, you may request a 50% refund to the credit card you used at registration before the second class meeting. After the second class, tuition is non-refundable.
