Teleservices Associates
Free Theatre Tickets!!!   The Shakespeare Theatre Company performing at the Lansburgh Theatre and Sidney Harman Hall in Downtown Washington DC, the nation’s foremost classical theatre, is currently seeking energetic, articulate theatre lovers for our current sales and fundraising campaigns. Join DC’s finest performing arts sales and fundraising team and call from our Capitol Hill administrative offices, conveniently located just 2 blocks from the Eastern Market Metro stop on 8th Street Southeast.

Relaxed professional atmosphere, 12 to 20 hours per week earning $9 to $15 /hr, and of course free tickets to all STC productions. This is a great opportunity for you to provide fun and rewarding support to one of DC’s leading arts institutions.

Box Office Associates (part time)

Assistant House Manager - Part Time
The Shakespeare Theatre Company at the Harman Center for the Arts, a multi-venue LORT B+ theatre, seeks part time Assistant House Managers. Teaching Artists
The Education Department of The Shakespeare Theatre Company, in Washington D.C., is seeking Teaching Artists for our in-school and after-school residency programs.  This education programming includes; Text Alive!, SHAKESPEARIENCE, and RE:ACT, as well as other education programs working with students from grade school to high school levels and adults. Required: BA degree in theatre and/or arts education (advanced degree preferred), teaching artist experience, curriculum development and evaluation experience, with a strong background in Shakespeare. Candidates must be creative, have solid classroom management and communication skills. Must have reliable automobile transportation and a valid driver’s license. Education Coordinator
The Shakespeare Theatre Company at the Harman Center for the Arts seeks a part-time Education Coordinator for an extremely busy Education department. This position provides administrative support for the director of education and the education department managers.  Additional duties include; answering phones, providing a high level of customer service, processing registrations, contracts and ticketing for the various programs and maintaining department financials; assisting in the development, research and writing of educational materials,  distribution of educational materials to teachers, facilitating at school matinees and other events, and teaching in the various programs as necessary.   The ideal candidate will be organized, able to multi-task, take initiative, able to work effectively under pressure, react productively to change, take directions well from others and be punctual.  Bachelor’s Degree in theatre or education with emphasis on Shakespeare.  Sound office administration skills and experience on MS Office Suite and Tessitura are required. Experience with calendaring software is a plus.  Some Evenings and Saturday are required.  Valid driver’s license required.  Employee may be required to complete Standard First Aid training. This position may be subject to a background check.

First Hand
The Shakespeare Theatre Company, in Washington D.C., seeks an experienced First Hand.  The First Hand will work with a 3-4 person team on costumes that span all eras and styles.  Expertise in costume construction and clothing alteration techniques, knowledge of period costume construction, experience with patterning and cutting of garments, and an understanding of various types of fabrics and materials is required.  Intermediate costume construction skill level required as well as organization, communication, time management and work load planning skills. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre or Fashion Design, or equivalent professional experience, and an additional 2 years of costume construction experience.  Preference will be given to candidates with proven experience handling corsetry, tailoring, and leather work, as well as previous supervisory experience.  This is a full-time, year-round position with generous benefit package.  Letter and resume with three references to employment@shakespearetheatre.org.  No calls please.  The Shakespeare Theatre Company recognizes the value of a work force made up of highly skilled people from a variety of backgrounds.

Overhire Carpenters Needed
The Shakespeare Theatre Company seeks Overhire Carpenters for the Reps Strike on April 10-12, 2010. Shifts are:

Shift A:
Saturday April 10, 2010
11pm to 8am – all night call

Shift B:
Sunday April 11, 2010
8am to 7pm – Day call

Shift C:
Sunday April 11, 2010
7pm to 2am – all night call

Ideally, I would like whoever works shift A to work shift C. Please let me know as soon as possible if you can work shifts A and C with B off or 1 of the three. If you are available for all three please let me know and I will let you know which shift I have placed you in. If you are out of the Metro DC area and are willing to travel please contact me about accommodations.

Database Programmer
The Shakespeare Theatre Company, in Washington, DC, is seeking an experienced SQL Database Programmer. The Database Programmer is responsible for all SQL databases, including Tessitura and Great Plains.  Duties include but are not limited to; day to day maintenance and integration procedures, writing custom reports and storage procedures, analyzing logs, implementing web interfaces, server maintenance, programming and writing reports on Tessitura software, and database backups.

This position requires a Bachelors Degree in computer science or equivalent work experience, an additional 3 to 5 years of Technical SQL and DBA experience, and technical skills in MS SQL 2000/2005, Access, Infomaker and Powerbuilder.  Proven expertise in SQL serveradministration, monitoring and performance tuning is required.  The successful candidate will have the ability to provide detailed documentation as needed, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to manage and effectively prioritize a diverse workload. Strong custom report writing skills a must.  Certification in MS SQL Admin and Programming preferred. Preference will be give to candidates with Tessitura experience.
