Free tickets to every show. No catch.
FREE WILL is a year-long continuation of STC’s annual Free For All productions, offering free tickets for every STC mainstage production in the season. Tickets are released once a week and can be reserved in person, over the phone or online.
A BIT ABOUT FREE WILL
FREE WILL aims to remove real or perceived barriers to classic theatre and continue STC’s commitment to Free For All all year long.
In only three seasons, over 27,000 tickets were reserved through the FREE WILL program.
With FREE WILL, STC opens doors to those who do not, or feel they cannot, see theatre by offering free tickets to each of our mainstage season productions.
For each production, 25-50% of FREE WILL users saw their first play at STC through FREE WILL. 46% of users said they do not see performances at other theatres in the area.
Our goal is to make sure theatre is not a privilege for just a few, but a vital, accessible centerpiece in our community.
11% of users saw a play written by Shakespeare for the first time through FREE WILL.
This is made possible through the generosity of Shakespeare Theatre Company donors.
GET TICKETS THROUGH FREE WILL
FREE WILL tickets for The Pinter Plays will be available in September.
While you wait for the new season to start, our Free For All production of Othello runs August 15 – 27. Learn how to get free tickets.
FREE WILL tickets are made available in person, online and over the phone every Monday at noon* for that week’s upcoming performances. You can reserve up to four FREE WILL tickets per production.
Community Partner Tickets
STC partners with local organizations to distribute tickets to productions relevant to their work. For more information on FREE WILL Community Partnerships or to partner with FREE WILL, email STCCommunity@ShakespeareTheatre.org
*If the Box Office is closed on a Monday, FREE WILL tickets are available on Tuesday both online and over the phone.
FREE WILL tickets can go fast, but that doesn’t mean you need to pay full price. See our other ticket offers to find out if you qualify for discounted tickets. Or, come to the Box Office two-hours before any STC production to pick up rush tickets for only $25.
