Planned Giving
The Society of 1616
Consider Making a Bequest
to the Shakespeare Theatre Company
If you have included the Shakespeare Theatre Company in your estate plans, you are entitled to join the Society of 1616. The Society is composed of a very special group of Theatre friends who have helped ensure the long-term success of the Theatre. Remembering the Shakespeare Theatre Company in your will is an important source of individual support because these gifts contribute critical long-term funding for the Theatre. Bequests can provide unrestricted funding that will meet the ongoing needs of our artistic, educational and community initiatives, or they can be designated for specific programs. For our pat ron s considering creating or revising their wills, the Shakespeare Theatre Company has sample bequest language that we are happy to share without any obligation. We also encourage our friends who have already made bequest provisions for the Shakespeare Theatre Company to contact us so that we may properly acknowledge your generosity. If you have listed the Shakespeare Theatre Company in your will, or if you are interested in making a gift of appreciated property, real estate or life insurance, or arranging a charitable gift annuity, please contact Ed Zakreski, Chief Development Officer, at 202.608.6304, or Danielle St. Germain-Gordon, Associate Director of Development, at 202.547.3230 ext. 2306, so that you can be enrolled in the Society of 1616.
