Welcome to Aurélia’s Oratorio, where the impossible happens before your eyes. Behind the velvet curtain lies a surreal world of surprises, a topsy-turvy time of tricks and transformations. With dancing, puppetry, acrobatics and more, Aurélia’s Oratorio is an inventive adventure set to a quirky score of chamber music and gypsy jazz. The show draws on traditional techniques to create an ingenious and unexpected evening that is equal parts whimsy, wit and wonder.

“Treat yourself to 70 minutes of the most fun you’ll have in a theater this year.”

The Youth and Family Series (YFS) introduces younger audiences to classic literature from around the world through engaging, age-appropriate productions. YFS productions are generally 60 to 90 minutes in length and are offered for school groups during the weekdays and for families on evenings and weekends. The productions provide connections to core content in social studies, language arts, history and theatre.

The Series is made possible through support from members of the Youth and Family Series Alliance, individuals who are dedicated to making classic theatre accessible to families and students. Members fund the production, benefit from special theatre perks and give underprivileged children in our area the opportunity to experience classic theatre of the highest caliber. To learn more about the possibility of becoming a member, please contact Rachel Niehoff, Major Gifts Coordinator, at FamilySeries@shakespearetheatre.org or (202) 547-3230, ext. 2325.
