The Athenians have convicted him. History has acquitted him. Now you be the judge!
Socrates is appealing his conviction, and the appeal, while 2,500 years late, appears timely. The charges against the defendant remain the same as in 399 B.C.E.: that he corrupted the young and preached godlessness. The question is whether he should have died for it –admittedly of academic interest to him, as no stay was ever issued.
Tickets are $35 and are available online, via phone and in person. Student tickets are available for $20; they can be purchased by visiting or calling the Box Office at 202.547.1122, option 1.
