Frequently Asked Questions

What will happen with the Lansburgh Theatre once Sidney Harman Hall opens?
We will continue to produce plays in the Lansburgh at the same level of quality as you have grown to expect of the Shakespeare Theatre Company. The Harman Center for the Arts is both the Lansburgh Theatre and Sidney Harman Hall, home of the Shakespeare Theatre Company.

How many shows will be produced?
At this time, we expect to produce a total of seven plays each season; four in Sidney Harman Hall and three in the Lansburgh. We will continue to present the Shakespeare Theatre Company Free For All at Carter Barron Amphitheatre.

What will happen with my full-season subscription?
You will have more choices in subscribing to the seven-play season. Of course, those who subscribe to the entire season will be given priority in seating in the Sidney Harman Hall and the Lansburgh Theatre.

I love the intimacy of the Lansburgh. What will happen with my subscription seats?
Your seats will not be changed in the Lansburgh. Per Artistic Director Michael Kahn's instructions to Architect Jack Diamond, no seat in Sidney Harman Hall is any further away from the Harman stage than any seat in the Lansburgh is from the Lansburgh stage. We will make every effort to provide you equivalent seating in Sidney Harman Hall, i.e., aisle seats, etc.

Will ticket prices go up?
We hope to keep prices even with inflation. However, we plan on offering a number of deep ticket discounts in keeping with our desire to keep theatre accessible for all.

Will there be parking?
Sidney Harman Hall will have ample underground parking.
