Linny Giffin is a co-founder of The Lemon Collective, a workshop space in Washington D.C. where the city’s creative and curious gather to teach and learn new skills. She is a fiber artist and interior decorator and stylist. She dreams of covering the world in pom poms and is fairly convinced she’ll get to it. Dr. Sarah McCue‘s career with the United Nations and nonprofits focuses on leveraging new technologies to benefit humanity including an online mentoring organization seed funded by Elon Musk; an online education platform for youth in developing countries; and The Remembering Site for elders to archive their life stories. Based on her recent experience creating a no-cost master’s degree in quantitative analytics, she is passionate about the need for an online school for working children, child brides, and refugees. She also teaches in the technology management program at Georgetown University.
Holley Simmons is the co-founder of The Lemon Collective and the founder of She Loves Me, a flower shop located in Petworth. Her flower and plant designs have been featured on Apartment Therapy, Washingtonian, A Creative D.C., and DCist. A local journalist, Holley’s writings on food and D.C. culture can be found in The Washington Post, Express, Washington City Paper, and Time Out.
Dr. Catherine A. Schuler, professor of Women’s Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, is a theatre historian specializing in gender and representation. She has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, and her monographs include, Women in Russian Theatre: the Actress in the Silver Age, and Theatre and Identity in Imperial Russia. She has been, among other things, an actor, director, journal editor, and is currently a fellow at the Wilson Center for International Studies where she is studying the emergence of a post-Soviet, neo-Stalinist mass festival culture.
