“The world is changed. Look at me, and see freedom.”

An epic tale of self-determination, performed identities, and the complications of well-intended insurgency. When a man appears claiming to be Demetrius, the long-dead heir to the Russian czar, and demands his rightful throne, the Polish government must decide whether to invade Russia on his behalf. Taking on Schiller’s unfinished last play, a dramatization of the same true story later made famous by Pushkin’s Boris Godunov, Peter Oswald’s verse translation and adaptation expands to Shakespearean dimensions, glancing from the reign of Ivan the Terrible to modern-day excursions in Iraq and Afghanstian.

Seating is on a first-come basis. Reservations are required.
