Congressional Chorus: Shakespeare Sings
William Shakespeare’s plays, poems and sonnets have been the source of inspiration for composers for hundreds of years. Although familiar with the great operas based on Shakespeare’s works, many people are not familiar with the vast amount of choral music that is based on Shakespearean texts. Congressional Chorus will preview their upcoming November 16th concert, SHAKESPEARE SINGS, with a sampling of 21st century choral works based on scenes from As You Like It, The Tempest, Cymbeline, Twelfth Night, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Two Gentlemen of Verona and Henry V.
