The Shakespeare Theatre Company provides a unique opportunity for up to eight actors to participate in our full season of plays. Acting Fellows comprise the non-equity ensemble for most or all of our mainstage plays, serve as understudies, and receive training in text, voice, speech, Alexander Technique and stage combat. Acting fellows are selected from affiliated university programs as well as from yearly auditions in New York and Washington, D.C.
The Shakespeare Theatre Company selects Acting Fellows each year as part of established relationships with Vassar College and the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Actors who are not affiliated with a particular program may audition for remaining positions. The Acting Fellowship is geared toward early-career actors with at least a bachelor's degree or similar training in theatre.
