In this dance class, explore rhythms using all that you have on your person as the instrument. Clap, step, snap, and sing creating a soundscape that serves as a soundtrack to life. Participants will learn the fundamentals of percussive dance while getting a great workout!

From the Syllabus:
Week 1: The Roots
Students will learn about the roots of stepping and percussive dance while learning a South African Gumboot dance.
Week 2: Be the Music
Through various activities students will learn how to create counterpoint rhythms with their hands and feet.
Week 3: Routine
Students will begin to learn a traditional step routine.
Week 4: Your Own
While continuing and extending the step routine students will create a solo based on what they have learned.
Week 5: Showtime
All components will be combined to create a final step routine.
